Episode 30

Episode Thirty

Introduction
Find me on Ravelry and Instagram as mmontzka!

I have a shawl pattern and kit in the works. It's a collaboration with Maya from the Wool barn. The kit will include my pattern, yarn, a project bag, and a few other little helpful things. I'm so excited for you all to see the new pattern. It will come out in the beginning of the October. So it is perfect for the  #shawlseasonKAL! I love seeing your projects and pictures on instagram and ravelry.

Works in Progress
  • Wheaton wrap by Anne Hanson from the Wool people Vol. 5. I'm using Loft yarn in the long johns colorway.
  • I started knitting the sleeves for the kid sweater I'm making for Thomas' nephew in the Bohus tradition. It's an improvised pattern with a gradient yoke. So far I've just started the sleeves.
Giveaway
In honor of the one year blogaversary of the New Hampshire Knits podcast I'll be giving away a copy of her new sock pattern, Agatha. Leave a comment in the thread on the ravelry group to be entered to win.

Episode Twenty Nine

Episode Twenty-Nine
Introduction
Find me on Ravelry and Instagram as mmontzka!

I have a new shawl pattern: my Succulent shawl is now available on ravelry. To celebrate the new shawl and the start of fall I'm going to have a new knit along. Use the #Shawlseasonkal on instagram or ravelry. It will run until the end of November (the 30th). I'm planning on releasing another shawl pattern in time for you to use that shawl for the KAL as well, so don't worry you can have multiple entries. There will probably be prizes (pm me on ravelry if you'd like to submit a prize as a sponsor).

    • I used quince and co Chickadee yarn, I love this yarn!

Q&A

Lisa from New Zealand asks:
I notice that you knit your shawls, scarves, socks and mittens etc (smalls) in neutral colours and your larger items sweaters and tops etc in brighter colours. Is that true or a reflection on the seasons/where you live/just a coincidence of what you have been doing recently?
I’m a new knitter and very keen (at this stage) to knit items in colours I will actually wear (a lot) vs colours that look so pretty to knit but not in my comfort zone for clothing.
